Adverbial Conjunctions

In the following paragraph, use adverbial conjunctions to reduce this twelve-sentece paragraph to one containing only nine sentences. Remember, use a semicolon before the conjunction and a comma afterward. Also, choose the adverbial conjunction the best describes the relationship between the sentences. Write your paragraph on the lines below.

Many of the activities I participated in during high school involved teamwork. For example, in volleyball, the team must have a plan in order to defeat the opponent; similarly, the front line players and the back line players must coordinate their movements. Defensive and offensive strategies can shift from one second to the next depending on where the ball is hit and how the other team is positioning its players. The players have to make secret sig- nals to one another in order to act together. Another activity I was involved with in high school took us into the city to winterize houses belonging to people who couldn’t afford to do it themselves. We put plastic over the win- dowpanes; however, the plastic sheets were large and difficult to hold steady in the wind. The hammers were heavy and awkward to use; therefore, it took three-person teams to finish each window. The job would have been impossible if we didn’t work together. I learned how important teamwork is in everyday life.

For me, "similarly", however", "therefore" that you've used in your exercise are adverbs, not conjunctions. In my opinion, they are correctly used.
