Adverb usage

Hi,

A coworker told me that the sentence below is grammatically incorrect. Can someone help me understand why, please?

"How would you rate the Customer Service Representative in clearly understanding your request?"

Thanks,

Eve

It is not incorrect, Eva, but it is not phrased as well as it could be: How would you rate the Customer Service Representative's understanding of your request?
