Adverb question

Is it acceptable to say "grow up more self confident?"

I want to communicate that during the process of growing up, kids will be more self confident. However, I need to do it in a timely manner.

I don't want to say "grow up more self-confidently" because that doesn't work. And if I say "grow up to be more self-confident," then being self-confident is a destination at the end of growing up, not part of the process.

Thanks.

How about ' grow up with more self-confidence ' ? I think your sentence is acceptable too since copula verb ' grow up ' takes an adjective ' self-confident ' which is used to modify the subject instead of as an adverb modifying the verb.
