Adverb help?
Hi! everyone.Could you tell me the suitable adverb for this sentence?
Scenario-I saw 5 football players running they were running in such a pattern that the fatter one was leading the row and the little thinner than him was following him and so on they were dwindling in weight following each other and the last player was the least fat.(I hope you will understand it).Now my question is which adverb can I use in the below sentence,now I am talking to my friend explaining how they were running-;
" Those players were running as decreasing in weight"
I don't know how to say it or which adverb could show that they were arranged regarding the weight so please help!

I'm not so sure you can convey all the information you wish to get across with one adverb. Players were running in a formation (in a line) from heaviest to lightest. Players were running in a formation (in a line) with the heaviest leading, followed by the remainder of the players from the next heaviest to the lightest.

- " Those players were running as decreasing in weight" definitely does not work nor make any sense.
