Adverb after "be" verb

Hi. Is the number 2 sentence correct? I think no. 1 is correct. I think the underlined /words are adverbs.

1. He is fast.

2. The actor is backstage.

Both are correct.

He is fast -- fast is an adjective describing a quality of the man. (He is a fast runner.)

The actor is backstage -- backstage is a noun (backstage is a place where the actor is located).

Hi. Thank you. Yes, I think it was a mistake for me to say the word "fast" in the sentence "He is fast." But I still think the word "backstage" in the sentence "The actor is backstage" is an adverb.

2. The actor is backstage. (backstage is an Adverbial)

yes, in my opinion, no.1 is correct but no.2 is not, because it isn't tell the specific of the place

but if you add word "in" before the word "backstage", that will be correct...
