Adverb

Hello,

An adverb is a word that modify a verb, an adjective , an adverb ,and a phrase.

I know the general usage of an adverb just as adding something to a verb a, modifying an adjective ,and an adverb. But I am not familiar of an adverb adding something to a phrase and also the kind of the phrase.

What kind of phrases are modified by adverbs?

Could any one explain it?

Thanks.
