Why do you say: My money is safely in the bank.?
And not: my money is safe in the bank.

CJ, thanks, I know that. But the meaning is different. But why use the adverb "safely" in the first example? Which verb or adjective does it modify?

You may get different opinions on this.

I would say that it modifies the prepositional phrase "in the bank".

In what manner is it in the bank? In a safe manner. Safely.

Personal opinion:

It is safely in the bank. - I (or somebody else got it to the bank with no problems.
It is safe in the bank. - It is secure (because it is) in the bank.
