Adverb

Guys,
what's wrong with sentence below... Is typically misplaced? If not what does it modify...had or ...became.

Typically, during a time when women had a narrow range of choices, Mary Baker Eddy became a distinguished writer and the founder, architect, and builder of a growing church.

Thanks

  • pokh Is typically misplaced?
  • Yes.
  • It should not be in this sentence, but in another.
  • It's impossible to tell what it modifies because it's hanging there meaninglessly at the beginning of the sentence.
  • You can't say, "Typically, so-and-so become a writer", whether distinguished or not.
