advantage disadvantage essay

So I have a question. Today we wrote an introduction for an advantages and disadvantages essay on our English class and we were supposed to read it. When i read it the professor said it was not good in the sense that it would not go with the advantages and disadvantages essay but that otherwise it is good . I am disagreeing with that but I want to get an experts opinion. The theme was: The role of technology in people's lives. So here is the intro:

Phones, tablets, computers, laptops, TVs, those are things we use in our everday lives without a second thought. Those things we define as technology. We cannot imagine our lives without it anymore. But how did all these gadgets influence us, did they change us and if so, in which way?

I agree with your teacher. It is a fantastic introduction to an essay with the topic "Technology has dramatically changed our lives."

But an introductory paragraph to an argumentative essay needs to state the argument and which side you are going to take, if any.

You need to add a more explicit statement that technology brings both advantages and disadvantages.
