Advances in technology and automation have reduced the for manual labor. Therefore, working hours should be reduced. Do you agree or disagree?

Technological innovations’ have significant impact in every field of life. People can do their work in few minutes without any difficulty thanks to technology. For this reason, many challenging work now become simple and it leads less need for labor force. Although reducing working hours can increase unemployment,but it is a good way for employed people to have a great social life.

On the one hand,many employees earn money for their each working hour.Hence,it is not good for them working less and getting low salary because of technology.For example,new kinds of robotic machine have decreased demand for housekeeper ,therefore it reduced working hours and it leads housekeepers become jobless.So, many people try to learn and get skills about technological word in order to find job.

On the other hand, as technology do many things, need for manual labor force should be decreased. Firstly, it is profitable for company owner to manage few machines instead of hiring a lot of employees and giving them salary. For instance, in mass production, one machine can do lots of work though many manual labors demanded for that before automatic period. Secondly, if working hours are reduced, this can increase motivation and productivity of labors. Because, working 8-10 hours in a day can lead much stress and unwillingness to their work. So, employees will able to spend more time with their family or friends or they can improve themselves in other fields with less working hours.

In conclusion,as technology and automation have reduced the need for manual labor, companies should minimize working hours for employees’ work-life balance and also for their benefit.
