Hi guys. My first post here as I prepare for the GRE. The Cambridge Advanced Learner's dictionary lists adulterate as a transitive verb with "only passive" voice. However, the sentence examples from http://www.yourdictionary.com/adulterate shows all the sentences in active voice. Am I missing something here? Then, is this sentence correct:
The Tartars have adulterated the culture of the Antarctican people with rock music.
The most common form you will encounter is the adjective "adulterated" or the passive voice. Learner's dictionaries focus on the most common forms. The verb is used in active voice, but it is not as common.
