Adrian Brody`s speech again

Hello,

I wanted to rephrase a sentence to understand it`s meaning better. Could you tell me please if it`s correct? Especially "the past one" and "one of these things".

" I haven`t really written a speech because every time I wrote a speech for the past one of these things I didn`t win."

"For the past one"- a speech written for the previous and possible appearance on the scene.

"One of these things"the nomination, Oscar, prize, anything that is connected with show business.

Is it possible to say one of those too? In one of the sentences I read:"There comes a time when everything seems to make sense and this is not one of those times. Can "those" be replaced by ''these"

here in this sentence?

Thank you

  • Anyway, it's not a great sentence, but it's the kind of thing we often say.

Hi,

No, this is not my sentence. I don`t like it either. Could you please correct it? What would you change in this sentence?

Hi,

Could you tell me please one more time if it`s possible to say "one of those too'' or not?

I am sorry but I didn`t understand the explanation. Especially the combination of "while" and "at".
