Adopting religion

Hi,

What do we call the process of choosing a religion?

Does "adopt" collocate with it?

Any help is revered in advance,

Iman

Like this: "I'm an adult convert to Catholicism." Note that this is "convert" as a noun not a verb.

Thank you MalRey for your concern.

But "convert" is used for changing one's religion. How about adopting a religion for the first time since the person has never had a religion before?

Hi. It seems you have got in rut.

What's wrong with choose?

Find and get can also be used but with a subtle nuance of meaning from what you intend to say.

I would personally recommend to say something such as

Ex. When I got acquainted with Fred, I started practising Islam.

I hope it helps

Yes. adopt collocates with religion.

revere doesn't collocate with help, though.

Dear CJ,

Thank you for your time and concern.

How "revered" can't collocate with help?

"embracing" is also a word used in place with choosing a religion,

for instance, we say

"XX embraced islam."

or like

"XX has has become very intrested in spritual debates, since he embraced Christianity."
