Adopt a routine

Hi

Is this sentence fully natural?

(Talking about one's stay somewhere)

Somehow I had adopted a routine in which there was no specific time to go to bed or get out of it.

Or this:

Somehow I had adopted a routine in which there was no specific time to sleep or wake up.

Thanks,

Tom

"Routine" sounds odd there, because it normally suggests that certain events occur in a reasonably predictable, recurring way, which doesn't seem to have been the case in this instance.
