Adolescent Angst?

Hi,
Is "Adolescent angst" a set phrase? I mean why we can't call it "Adolescence angst" i.e "Angst of adolescence" (during the period)? Does the accepted phrase actually imply that this quality, in fact, belongs to the teenagers and is not a true aspect of adolescence itself?

Thank you.
