adjust to the new forum

It took me almost a month to adjust (myself) to the new forum.

It took me almost a month to adapt (myself) to the new forum.

Do the above two both sound right and mean about the same?

Is "myself" optional in both contexts? Thanks.

They mean the same thing. myself is better left out in both cases, in my opinion. It's understandable with myself , but sounds a bit awkward.
