Adjectives before pronouns?

Why can't i use adjectives before a pronoun?

He is very happy

happy John is walking downstairs.

insane he kills john.

It sounds stupid. But i'm curious to know why Emotion: smile

p,s : off topic but what's the difference between

1) he is gay

2) he is a gay

3) he is a gay man?

'gay' seems to have both noun and adjective, which have the same meaning. 1 could either be an adjective or noun? Since i didn't put any determiner, what's the difference between 2? how do i put it if i wanted it to mean the archaic word 'happy' (gay) ? 2. It is now a predicate nominative right? 3. i don't see how this differs from 2.

Both adverbs and adjectives can come before the pronoun. (I think I'd use a comma.)

Happily, he ran to meet her.

Happy, he ran to meet her.
