Adjective vs verbal adjective

hello:

what is the difference between these two statments:

the goods sold are not returnable (the goods that are sold are not returnable)

vs

the sold goods are not returnable.

I feel there is a difference in meaning.

We need a native speaker or two to verify this, but to my ear sold goods is not idiomatic English. Some participles are not used attributively and I think sold is one of them. CB
