Adjective phrase with 'be' verb?

I have this sentence:

We define Q as the plane containing the z-axis and being perpendicular to the plane P.

I mean that the plane Q contains the z-axis. And the plane Q is perpendicular to the plane P.

Is my sentence correct?

Native speakers don't use all of those "the". Most are unnecessary and don't sound natural.

I hate to break it to you but I am a native speaker and we do use all of those articles and they do sound natural.
What sounds unnatural is omitting them.
