Adjective + perfect tense

Can you use the following grammar construction: present perfect / past perfect + adjective?

Thus could you say:

1) she had been very beautiful before she had a serious car accident.

2) this different currency had been quite confusing for me, until I figured out which bill color meant which bill number.

Beautiful and confusing being the adjectives here (I‘m aware of the fact that confusing could be used as an verb here, being an active participle)

Thank you! Emotion: smile
