Adjective Particple versus Perfect Present

So, I know that the two sentences below function different by label of function for the participle (label in parenthesis):

"It is finished" (adjective)

"It has been finished" (verb)

However, if I were to say, "It has been finished for a while now," would "finished" still be more of a verb than an adjective because of it being part of the Perfect Present?
