Adjective or adverb?

Hi. Please tell me whether the word "home" in the following simple example sentence is an adverb or an adjective. Thank you in advance for your help.

It is neither an adverb nor an adjective. It remains a noun but performs the fuction of an adverbial modifier.

Well, the first ten dictionaries I consulted at www.onelook.com all claimed that 'home' could be an adverb and/or adjective as well as a noun. Are they all wrong?
