I'd say that late is an adverb. Yes.

But there is no sensible question with "how" because the original statement is an idiom for

She arrived late for class.

You might ask When did she arrive for class? but that

Hi CalifJim,

You are quite right. Sometimes I ask myself questions that I am the only one to raise them. It is a great way to tell me. I’ll try not to do it and if I do please do always tell me. Thanks a lot for the advice.[Y]

I don't know if I express this commentary properly.

You know what I did with your advice? I have printed it to have it always in front of me. I hope it will work! Emotion: nodding

It's an observation -- not really advice. If there is any advice there, it's to try to make things simplewherever possible. (Advice is easy to give -- hard to follow!)

Hi CalifJim,
Even though it's is just an observation, I thank you very much. How things are said is the best way to get a good result from them. I really think so. Don't you?

Are you expressing the same sentiment we have in this English proverb?

You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

Yes, I'm expressing exactly this sentiment. I didn't know about this proverb, but is it true as life.
Thank you.

No, "late" is an adjective here. When it follows the verb "be" it's called a predicative complement.

Then, Can I say that after stative verbs we never have adverbs, but adjectives? Is that so?
In other words: adjectives also describe or modify stative verbs, don't they?
