Mister Micawber I would have thought 'consistently'.
That was my first reaction, but the more I contemplate the process described, the more I'm inclined toward "persistently" over "consistently."

My only problem is that the former seems to describe a conscious will, rather than a machine.
Perhaps it's found its way into the jargon.

"persistently" may mean that the data will not be lost on power-down.
