Adjective or adverb?

Look at this sentence. " I sat in a lovely comfortable armchair in the corner".

my book says "lovely comfortable" are two adjectives. i thought "lovely" should be adverb. if it is adjective, how would i know whether it is adjective or adverb in the future should such sentences appear again?

Where two modifiers precede a noun you need to ask whether the first one modifies the noun or modifies the second modifier.

No. Not all words that end in -ly are adverbs. You have to learn which -ly words are not adverbs.
