Adjective for Solicit

I had a word in a sentence that was going to be "solicitous." Then I found out it means the opposite of what I needed it to mean. It pretty much means the people being solicited, not the ones doing the soliciting. Does anybody have an adjective form of solicit besides just "soliciting?" Like a real whole word where I don't have to use the "ing?" I'd like the root of the word to still be solicit … but also if you just have a good synonym I'd take that too. Thanks!

Thanks. OK, goes something like this: "Underneath this bridge is the meeting place for all these sad, solicitous, pathetic panhandlers " I'm talking about beggars. Thanks!

Hmm. I think you had better explain more about what you want to mean by the word that will replace 'solicitious' there.

I just want an adjective form of the word solicit to stick in there? That would apply to panhandlers instead of the people who give to panhandlers?

Well, I think that 'panhandlers' takes care of it, but:

Underneath this bridge is the meeting place for all these sad, freeloading/cadging/mooching, pathetic panhandlers.
Underneath this bridge is the meeting place for all these sad, panhandling, pathetic homeless.

No, that's not any good. I don't want "ing" words. I want real adjectives! Like "solicitous" but actually meaning what I want it to.

Lukas Kubicek I don't want "ing" words. I want real adjectives!
They are real adjectives. Since you cannot find the word yourself and are also unclear on the meaning of your own choice, 'solicitous', then you are hardly in a position to rule on the appropriateness of other suggestions you have in fact solicited. If you have special requirements, then please
