Adjective for a craving addict

Hi. I was wondering if there was a word in English language that can explain the feeling an addict or alcoholic person has when they are craving for the drugs or alcoholic drink? I mean the sluggish languid feeling they might have. Is there any adjective that is closer in definition to the state I just explained?
Thank you very much in advance!

um...I thought those who use drugs feel languid when they do not have access to it.

Craving and addiction are part of the 'compulsion' the body or mind has for satisfaction. If it helps...

I suppose they may do, depending on the drug, but "craving" is more associated with a feeling of agitation or unrest.

frantic?

Certainly not 'languid'. That's more likely the effect of the drug. Maybe you're looking for an expression like "to be in a stupor"?

I guess "agitated" is the closest adjective to the state I have in mind. Thank you all for your suggestions. special thanks to GPY.
