Adjective clauses and noun clauses

Dear readers,

Could somebody tell me what the difference is between an adjective clause and noun clauses?

Noun clauses:
1. He knows that his business will be successful.

2. That there is a hole in the ozone layer of the earth’s atmosphere is well known.

Adjective clauses:
3. Men who are not married are called bachelors.

4. Last year we traveled to San Francisco, which is famous for its architecture.

I don't understand how a noun clause is different from an adjective clause.

Hi MM,

Are these sentences correct?

Adjective clause:
I am walking on the street that is covered with ****.

Noun clause:
I walked that street covered in ****
0
Both are adjective clauses; the first is finite and the second is non-finite. (In the second, 'that' is a demonstrative adjective, not a conjunction.)

What about this?
The street that I walked on is covered with ****.

Is this a noun clause?
