ADJECTIVAL OR ADVERBIAL MODIFICATION

BillJThe preposition is optional. If it is included, the infinitival clause becomes complement of the preposition, not of the noun.

Two different grammatical analysis. Right? The same cannot be done to every such sentence. Am I right?
