Adenda

Hi,
What does 'agenda' mean in the context?

"Tim mentioned that Jerry had been a very divisive person in their family, and he suspected Jerry could cause a tremendous amount of trouble. Tim cautioned Eddie that Jerry had an agenda and suggested that Eddie should keep a close eye on him."

Thanks.

Agenda , here, means very much the same as a dictionary definition. However, there is a negative aspect, which means that Jerry has some "hidden idea" about what should be up for discussion, or what the result of the discussion should be.

We don't know what Jerry's agenda is, but it means that he had some secret plan or idea. The agenda = hidden idea/plan.
