Adding ('s & s')

I'm having a brain freeze. When do you had the 's? Which is correct: The Mosley's or The Mosleys' ?

Top answer

If there is one Mosley, it's 's. John Mosley's house. If there is more than one, it's s' .

  • If there is one Mosley, it's 's.
  • John Mosley's house.
  • If there is more than one, it's s' .
  • The Mosleys' house The apostrophe goes after the possessor, so we use 's if a plural form does not end in s : One boy 's books - The child 's books.
  • Two boys ' books - The children 's books.

If there is one Mosley, it's 's. John Mosley's house.

If there is more than one, it's s'. The Mosleys' house

The apostrophe goes after the possessor, so we use 's if a plural form does not end in s:

One boy's books - The child's books.
Two boys' books - The children's books.
