Add on / put in a meeting room.

Hi teachers,

An exhibition booth at a convention hall. Would it be correct to say the following:

1. We'd like to put in a meeting room

2. We'd like to add on a meeting room.

Both are ok, but i would probably use "add on" more often as the meaning is clearer Emotion: smile

With no further information, the intent seems the same to me. The physical limitations of the exhibition hall (or whatever) and precise plans for the extension may well determine one as more appropriate.

I have given you the wrong impression. The booth is small and the meeting room is inside the booth. The convention organizer will use partition walls to divide in order to make a meeting room.

1. Could you give me one example that "add on" and "put in" will differ in use?

Add on- refers to something addition to the exisiting structure. Add on - very rarely is used as compound verb but ususally is used as a compound noun. i.e. This media room is an add-on which we decided to put in during the remodeling last year.

Put in - can mean add-on or installing something during the building of a structure. i.e. I put in a jacuzzi bath tub last year when I r

Just want to add a few comments on the typical convention facilities here in the US. The type of convention I have attended over the years was related to electro-mechanical, technology and equipment industries. Most average exhibits were typically around 15' x 20' and most did not have "meeting booth" within the exhibit, except the bigger names and international companies which occupied the bes
