Is it :

1 The book was adapted into a movie.
2 The book was adapted to the movies./for the movies.

One thing:

Stimulus "can it be used like this"

1 A computer is a stimulus so don't use it before going to sleep, make sure you stop using 20 minutes before you sleep.
