Acts or acts?

Hi, just wanna ask if you are NOT talking about particular acts (legislation), do you use Acts or acts?

I would capitalize "Act" only when it's used as part of the name of the act: "The Stamp Act."

When referring to it as "the act," I would not capitalize it, even though you may be referring to the specific act.

That is, I don't think it works like "Ambassador Rice" - "The Ambassador" - "an ambassador."
