Hi Scott Using "one of the" indicates that there are several/many things in a particular category and you are referring to only one of those things. " Let's say there is a list of 25 activities and the activities are grouped this way: Most important (5 activities) Important (15 activities) Least important (5 activities) "One of the most important activities" would refer to one of the five activities included in the "most important" group. If you want to say that there is one activity that is more important than all 24 of the other activities, then you would have to say "the most important activity".

Hi Scott

Using "one of the" indicates that there are several/many things in a particular category and you are referring to only one of those things. Therefore, it is only correct to say "one of the most important activities."

Let's say there is a list of 25 activities and the activities are grouped this way:
Most important (5 activities)
Important (15 activities)
