active or passive?

What's difference between 'stuck' and 'gotton stuck' ?

A baby stuck in the house (active voice)

A baby gotton stuck in the house (passive voice)

I think both of them have the same meaning but i don't know the differences!!!

Top answer

The first option doesn't necessarily explain why or how the baby was stuck in the house. The second option makes it seem clear that something the baby did caused the baby to end up stuck. Also, gotton is definitely not correct.

Also, gotton is definitely not correct. To write this correctly, the sentence should start either "A baby had gotten stuck..." or "A baby got stuck".

The first one in active voice is not semantically correct.
In the context that someone is unable free himself from a situation, it is always expressed in passive voice. Example: My car broke down half way going to Vegas.. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere at 12 mid-nightt. Or you can say " I got stuck in the middle of the Mojavi desert for the whole night until a passing drive
