Action and Linking verbs!!

Please if anyone can help me i will be very grateful,

i know that reaches is an action verb in a normal sentence like, i reached to get my cup from the table.

but what if the subject cannot perform the act of reaching like in the sentence, the table reaches from one end to the other.

a table can not reach at all so in this case does the verb change to be linking or does it still stay action.

i really want someone to explain me this tip because i have a lot of theories in my mind right now and i dont know which one to follow.

Thankyou!!
