Act unwisely because of anger

Hi,

My son wanted to watch a cartoon immediately, but I told him, "not now, later you can watch it. After the dinner. "
But he said "No. I don't want to watch it now. I won't watch it after the dinner." He said this because he was angry.

Is there a word or phrase to describe his action or attitude?

Thank you.

Thank you.

But is "act up" a general phrase?

For example, when I refused his request, he began to cry.
Was he acting up in this context?
