acrossing, across, or crossing

Acrosssing under the Grand Bridge on a wooden ferryboat

Is the above expression correct?
I question about cross and across usage on the sentence.
I was taught that across is used by preposition or adverb on the sentence.
so I think that using 'acrossing' is not correct.
