Across/ throughout the world

The opening decades of the twenty-first century proved to be of seminal importance for the dystopian fiction across the world.

I am talking about the dystopian fiction that was written during this period across the world. Is this a standard expression?

Emerging from the same global crisis, the dystopian fiction shares some common tropes, themes, and concerns throughout the world.

I mean to say that dystopian fiction of different countries shares some common features. Is this the right way of putting it?

A decade can't be seminal. I don't know what you are trying to say about the connection between the opening decades and the fiction. Do not use "the" in "dystopian fiction." "Around the world" is standard.
