Across the street

If I'd like to describe a situation when I see a car is coming across the street; I'm in my car and heading up north while the other car I spot is going down south, that's in the opposite direction.

Is it understandable and grammatically correct to say "All in a sudden, I see another car is coming across the street"?

Thank you!
