Hello....

This is about "omission" of objects of prepositions...

Both of the below are correct usage?

a. The ships transport passengers across in less than half an hour.
b. The ships transport passengers across for less than half an hour.

And, the c. below can be also correct?

c. The ship transported passengers across for three hours.

About c.....
Can't it be understood to mean that the ship did the ac of transporting passengers across for three hours?
Like transporting people across and come back, and then transporting peope across again?
