Acronym or short letters?

- A.I. stands for artificial intelligence.
- A.I is short for artificial intelligence.

Q1) Are both of sentences grammatically right?
Q2) I want to know the noun same meaning as acronym? Could you teach me for it? Can't I use "short letters" instead of it?
Q3) Could you teach me the noun which has opposite meaning of "acronym"? Could you teach me it by easy word? Can't I use "full letters"?

Thank you in advance for your teaching.
