accused/blamed

I accused him for my failure.

I blamed him for my failure.

Which one is correct? Also what's the difference between "accused" and "blamed". Usually I would understand the both as having the same meaning.

Only difference of preposition

Blame takes the preposition (for)

Whereas accuse takes the preposition (of)

About these two sentences second one is right

My Examples:
Blame - I know you did it

Accuse - I think you did it.
