Accord and treaty

Is there any difference between an accord and a treaty?

Top answer

Hi This is just my view, without looking it up. An accord is usually between countries that are already friendly and it states what it is that they agree about. A treaty, more often, is between countries that have had disagreements (or war) but, after negotiation, they arrive at something they can go along with, expressed in the treaty Dave
