Accident

How to say this grammatically?

Today I met with an accident or an accident happened to me. The scenario was like we were going along the road on a scooty and car bumped us from the back side of his car while he was reversing and we both fell from the scooty, then we stand up and stambled/wobbled towards our scooty.
