Vocabulary

access flange

0It is a part of solar cylinder. But what does it mean? I have found it in the OALDictionary and it say it is sth that sticks out and it's used for tightening of the object, but then I also found it means 'protruding edge' or even a 'lid'. It doesn't seem to fit in my context.02br

0Are you familiar with "manholes" which give access to the utilities chambers and crawlways beneath urban streets? They usually have a round cover, or lid, which may be removed to allow a man to work below street level. Now picture one which is raised a foot above street level.
