Acceptable?

Hi! Is number 2 grammatically acceptable? Thanks, Fulvio

The situation is I was born in New York but I moved to San Francisco when I was a child. I am now 42 years of age.

1. Have you been back there (New York) since?

2. Have you been back there (New York) since your birth?

Top answer

Grammatically, #2 is correct. However, it is unlikely to be said in that way. Everything that one does is ‘since their birth’.
