Accept of

Hello...

I just wasn’t sure if you guys would be accepting of my devoutness.

1. Here, can the "accepting of" be replaced with "accepting"?

2. "to accept something" and "to accept of something" seem to be different in meaning or nuances.

a. His wife is not accepting his step daughter.

b. His wife is not accepting of his step daughter.

c. His wife does not accept his step daughter.

d. His wife does not accept of his step daughter.

I'm not sure if you have a pronoun problem or if the man has been married twice, but "his step-daughter" is his wife's daughter.

Either his (new) wife doesn't accept her step-daughter (his daughter)
or
He was married before and had a step-daughter from that marriage, and although that marriage is over, he still has a relationship with this girl and his new wife doesn't like

I came across the sentence in Google.
My main concern was about "accepting of", specifically when "of" is used and when not.
