Many high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 per cent female.
Companies should be required to allocate a certain positions to women.

To what extent do you agree?

Most high-level posts in companies are occupied by male even though the workforce in most of developed nations is higher than 50 percent women. It is required for companies to impose a particular percentage of these posts to women. In my opinion, I concur that the companies should allocate quotas for women. However, I also agree that women should be given equal opportunity.

Firstly, I believe that the companies have full right to appoint whoever they believe is best suitable for their company regardless of the gender. Forcing companies to hire, appoint or promote women makes no point. Women ought to fight for the position and earn it rather than waiting for someone to offer that position. Allocating separate quotas for women may lead to appointment of employee that doesn't fulfill company's need. For instance, it may not be wise to choose Selena Gomez as the president over Barack Obama just to make sure women are in higher position.

Secondly, I believe that both men and women must be provided equal opportunity in every field and
companies should not make a biased decision based on gender. Both boys and girls should be given equal access to resources and taught from early age so that they can enhance their skills.

In conclusion, the high-level position should be given to the one who truly deserves it. Rather than allocating the certain percentage of high-level positions in companies, women must be encouraged to challenge men for the these positions by providing access to the resources they need.
